Nearshore React Developers
React.js powers 44% of all front-end projects. When your roadmap demands faster UI delivery, nearshore React developers in Costa Rica give US companies senior-level talent at 40-60% below domestic rates, no time zone gap.
What “Nearshore React Developer” Actually Means
A nearshore React developer is a front-end software engineer based in Latin America who specializes in React.js and its ecosystem, placed with a US employer through a nearshore staffing partner. “Nearshore” means the developer works in a compatible US time zone, communicates fluently in English, and is embedded in your team’s daily workflow. They are not an offshore contractor who disappears for half your workday.
React has been the most widely used front-end framework for five consecutive years. According to the Stack Overflow Developer Survey 2025, 44.7% of professional developers use React as their primary web framework. That demand has driven US React developer salaries to $130,000-$185,000 per year for mid-to-senior candidates.
Costa Rica has become the preferred nearshore React market for US companies that need genuine depth, not just availability. The country produces 5,000+ STEM graduates annually, its developer community has matured alongside the SaaS industry, and the legal framework for employment is straightforward compared to other Latin American markets.
Kore BPO’s React placements span component library work, full Next.js application builds, performance audits on large SPAs, and React Native mobile work. The common thread is seniority. We do not staff junior developers for these roles.
Who This Is For. Who It Is Not.
Nearshore React staffing works well in specific situations. It does not work for every team or every timeline. Read this before you reach out.
Good fit for teams that…
- ✓Have an existing React codebase and need to move faster on feature delivery
- ✓Are mid-stage SaaS companies scaling product teams under cost pressure
- ✓Need developers who can join daily standups, Slack, and code reviews in real time
- ✓Want TypeScript, React 18+, Next.js, and modern testing practices
- ✓Are open to a 3-12 month engagement with potential for permanent hire
- ✓Have a US-based tech lead who can onboard and direct the developer
Not a good fit if you…
- ×Need a developer to start coding independently with no onboarding process
- ×Require US citizenship or US-soil presence for compliance reasons
- ×Want project-based fixed deliverables with no ongoing team relationship
- ×Have a greenfield React project with no defined architecture yet
- ×Need a React developer tomorrow (our process takes 10-14 days minimum)
- ×Expect offshore rates ($10-15/hr) for nearshore quality
React Ecosystem Depth We Screen For
We do not assess React in isolation. A React developer who does not understand state management, build tooling, and testing is a junior developer with React on their CV. Our candidates are vetted across the full ecosystem.
Core React & TypeScript
- React 18+ (Concurrent, Suspense, Server Components)
- TypeScript 5.x (strict mode, generics, utility types)
- React hooks (custom hooks, useCallback, useMemo)
- React Router v6 / TanStack Router
- Next.js 14+ (App Router, RSC, middleware)
State, Data & APIs
- Redux Toolkit / Zustand / Jotai / Recoil
- TanStack Query (React Query v5)
- REST API integration + Axios / Fetch
- GraphQL + Apollo Client / urql
- React Hook Form + Zod / Yup validation
Tooling, Testing & Performance
- Vite / Webpack 5 / Turbopack
- Vitest / Jest + React Testing Library
- Playwright / Cypress (E2E)
- Storybook + Chromatic (component QA)
- Core Web Vitals, code splitting, lazy loading
How We Screen Nearshore React Developers
Our vetting process exists because generic React assessments miss what matters: can this developer work in your specific codebase, contribute in your standups, and debug production issues under pressure?
Resume + LinkedIn Audit
We filter for 4+ years of production React experience on teams with real codebases. Junior developers with tutorial projects are removed at this stage, regardless of their overall year count.
Technical Screen
A 60-minute live code session covering React component architecture, state management decisions, TypeScript type design, and one performance debugging scenario. No take-home tests that invite collaboration.
Communication Assessment
English proficiency specifically for async written communication, code review language, and technical escalation calls. We simulate a daily standup and a Slack thread. This is where many technically strong candidates are filtered out.
Culture + Team Fit
We review the candidate’s preference for team size, management style, and time zone overlap. You get a profile memo, not just a resume. You then run your own technical interview before committing.

How Engagements Are Structured
There is no single model that fits every team. We offer three, and we are direct about when each one does and does not work.
Staff Augmentation
The developer joins your team as a dedicated resource. They attend your standups, commit to your repo, use your tools. You pay a monthly fee. Minimum 3-month engagement. Best fit for ongoing product teams that need an extra React developer embedded full-time.
Part-Time Specialist
20 hours per week of dedicated time from a senior React developer. Useful for teams that need architectural input, code review, or a specialist during a specific build phase without a full-time headcount commitment.
Direct Hire Placement
We recruit and vet the candidate, you bring them on as a permanent employee. The developer becomes yours entirely. Kore BPO charges a one-time placement fee and provides a 90-day replacement guarantee if the hire does not work out.

Frequently Asked Questions
What React experience level do your nearshore developers typically have?
Most candidates in our React pool have 4-8 years of production React experience and 2+ years with TypeScript. We do not place developers with less than 3 years of React-specific work. If you need a junior developer, a different staffing model is a better fit for that gap.
Can nearshore React developers work with our existing US team?
Yes, and same-time-zone collaboration is the point. Costa Rica operates on US Central Time (UTC-6), matching Chicago, Dallas, Houston, and most of the Midwest. For East Coast teams, there is a one-hour offset. Developers are available for morning standups, afternoon code reviews, and afternoon Slack threads. There is no delayed-response cycle that makes distributed engineering painful.
How long does the React developer search take from first contact?
10-14 business days from the discovery call to first candidate profiles. After you approve a candidate, scheduling a final interview typically takes 3-5 more days, and start date is usually 2-4 weeks out depending on any remaining notice period. If your requirement is urgent, tell us at the start. We can compress the timeline in some cases if the role fits our existing candidate pipeline.
Do you only work with Costa Rica, or other Latin American markets?
Costa Rica is our primary nearshore market for React developers, but we also place in Colombia (Bogota and Medellin tech communities) and Mexico (CDMX and Guadalajara). Each market has a distinct rate range and talent profile. If Costa Rica candidates do not meet your criteria in the initial search, we expand to these adjacent markets before concluding the search.
What happens if the React developer is not a good fit after placement?
We offer a 90-day replacement guarantee on all placements. If the developer does not work out within the first 90 days for any reason tied to performance or skills match, we reopen the search at no additional cost. The replacement guarantee requires written notice within the 90-day window and a documented reason. It does not apply to layoffs, project cancellations, or budget reductions on your side.
Do nearshore React developers handle both web and React Native mobile?
Some do, but they are different skills and we vet them separately. A React developer who has only built web SPAs is not automatically qualified for React Native. If you need mobile, tell us at the start. We will search specifically for developers with React Native production experience, which typically means Expo, bare workflow, native module integration, and App Store/Play Store release cycles. The pool is smaller than pure web React, so timelines may extend slightly.
What Teams Say After Placement
“We had been trying to hire a senior React developer in Austin for six months. Kore sent us two candidates in two weeks. The one we hired was technically stronger than anyone we’d interviewed locally.”
“The time zone question was my main concern going in. It turned out to be a non-issue. Our Costa Rica developer is in standup every morning and responds on Slack within minutes. Same as any US team member.”
“We saved $80,000 in year one compared to what we’d budgeted for a US hire. The developer we brought on refactored our entire component library and wrote proper test coverage. Real contribution from day one.”
